Ballet Eloelle/Grandiva is one of the few all male comedy ballet companies in the world. Its mission is to create, to present, to preserve, and to extend comedic repertoire of classical and contemporary dancing, through performances of the highest quality, presented to the widest possible audience. Under the artistic direction of Victor Trevino, Ballet Eloelle/Grandiva is committed to the core art form of ballet and promoting it through the comedic tradition of male comedy ballet.
Ballet Eloelle/Grandiva remains dedicated to this vision as it pursues five primary objectives:
To cultivate new audiences for classical and contemporary dance through the use of comedy
To perform for audiences that may or may not have access to classical and contemporary ballet.
To preserve the integrity of ballets, dance aesthetic, and standards of excellence in dance so as to educate audiences about the classical and contemporary dance art form.
To develop new work that draws on the creative talents of comedic choreographers, costumers, and other production artists.
This mission is accompanied by a commitment to expand the Company’s audience and make ballet accessible to the widest possible public through touring, the creative use of media, and other outreach efforts.
